Steven Kumble began a journey toward a career in law in 1954, after earning a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University. He took a short detour from his educational pursuits to serve his country as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Two years later, he earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard University, and passed the bar in the state of New York in 1960.
Mr. Kumble became a partner of Finley, Kumble, Wagner, Underberg, Manley & Casey in New York City, a position he kept from 1968 to 1987. He then went on to serve Of counsel with Summit Rovins & Feldesman for two years. From 1985 to 2004, he was chairman of the board of directors for Lincolnshire Management, Inc., New York City. During this time, he was presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws in English from Long Island University. In 2005, he became the chairman of the board of directors for Corinthian Capital Group, LLC, a position he currently holds.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Kumble has served as the vice chairman of the board of directors for Long Island University, and chairman and trustee board member of the Governor's Committee on Scholastic Achievement. Additionally, from 1999 to 2005, he served as a member of the advisory board of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice, and he has been a member of the dean's advisory board of Harvard Law School since 2006.
