As the founder and governing director of Scientific Journal Publishers, Dr. Stewart demonstrates an expertise in all areas of human development, psychology and research. Over the course of his career, he served as a lecturer in psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, senior lecturer in education at Massey University in Palmerston North, and associate professor of psychology at Laurentian University. He also spent a great deal of time working for the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji. For a decade, he served in several roles, including professor of human development, head of the school of education, pro vice-chancellor, acting vice chancellor and head of the school of humanities. During this time, he also participated in many civic projects, which allowed him to give back to the community. Dr. Stewart was an American Field Service Scholar in Delavan, Wis. and a member of the Rotary Peace Forum International Committee. Additionally, he was elected a City Councillor (Alderman) in Palmerston North, was chairman of the City's Economic Committee and was an appointed member of the Heritage Regent Theatre Trust Board.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Zealand in 1962, a master's degree in education from Harvard University in 1965 and a Ph.D. from Massey University in 1972. A regular contributor to professional and scientific journals, Dr. Stewart authored "Cultural Dimensions: Factor Analysis of Textor's A Cross-Cultural Summary," "Arthur and Polly Hansell and Their Three Daughters," "Adolescence in New Zealand: A Book of Readings 2 vols.," and "Pacific Profiles," among many others. He has also contributed more than 61 chapters to a number of educational publications. In recognition of excellence, he was the recipient of the Ken Scheller Rotary Award for writing excellence. He was also selected for inclusion in Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Finance and Business.
