Over the course of his career, which has spanned more than three decades, he has served as president of the International Association for Disability and Oral Health (formerly International Association of Dentistry for the Handicapped), president of the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities, president of the American Association of Hospital Dentistry, president of the Special Care Dentistry Association (formerly Chairman of the Federation of Special Care Organizations in Dentistry) and founding President of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. As Professor of Dentistry and Director of the General Practice Residency Program at The Ohio State University he worked with dental students and graduates on the cusps of their careers. He mentored and advised thousands of dental professionals during his more than thirty years of academic endeavors - offering insights from his own experiences. Dr. Jolly has also served for decades as a forensic dentist, currently the Chief Forensic Odontologist for the Franklin County (Ohio) Coroner's office and in that capacity served in New York City after the events of 9/11 identifying the victims from the World Trade Center.
Dr. Jolly remains at the top of the dental field through his industry affiliations. He has been recognized as a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Academy of General Dentistry, American Association of Hospital Dentistry and the Academy of Dentistry International among numerous others. He has also been elected as a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. In recognition of his professional excellence, he was the recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award in Dentistry from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He was also honorably selected for inclusion in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America. Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America. He earned a BA in chemistry and biology in 1974 and a DDS in 1977 from the University of Missouri. He is specialty certified as a founding Diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry.
