After eight years in that role, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and transferred to General Electronic Laboratories, where he worked as a design engineer for one year before obtaining his current role.

He has also been the designer of more than 1,300 microwave components, as well as portable and desktop microcomputer systems. Throughout his storied and long-standing career, he has won a variety of awards for his work, such as the Centennial Medal in 1984, the Professional Achievement Award in 1992, and the Haradan Pratt Award in 1997. Additionally, he has had the honor of being named to two editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, 15 editions of Who's Who in America, and 11 editions of Who's Who in the East.
