A retired elementary school teacher, Ms. Gaspar has more than 60 years of experience in various areas of education. She began a career in education upon graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in education in 1957. For the next two decades, she enjoyed various teaching positions with schools throughout Los Angeles, including Pacific Palisades Elementary School, Eastman St. Elementary School, Glassell Park, Stoner Ave. Elementary School, Brentwood Elementary School and Brockton Ave. Elementary School. In 1991, Ms. Gasper joined the Peace Corps, through which she assisted in establishing the Swakopmund Teachers Resource Center in Namibia. During this time, she also served as an English teacher at the Atlantic Senior Primary School. Although she now resides in the United States, Ms. Gaspar continues to assist the Peace Corps as a career information consultant. Since joining the organization in 1991, she has traveled to more than 150 countries in less than three decades.
Outside of her career as an elementary school teacher, Ms. Gaspar is a dedicated composer who has been writing music since she was 10 years old. She has been credited with composing music for two theater shows for children. Deeply committed to the art community as a whole, Ms. Gaspar donated an album of photographs and newspaper articles to the Smithsonian Art Institute. She takes great pride in her affiliation with The Remington Registry, which focuses heavily on the future of mankind and mentorship. The organization aims to inspire the youth of America to experience culture while fostering patience to build a better America. In addition, Ms. Gaspar is a member of the California State Retired Teachers Association, Southern Nevada Peace Corps Association and Prestigious National Honor Society.
In recognition of her commitment to education, Ms. Gaspar has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in the World. She was also selected for inclusion in the 3rd through 8th editions of Who's Who in American Education.
