Dr. Rosenberg is a lifelong academic and retired optometrist who is noted for his work in both optometry and psychology. Since retiring from his role as associate professor of psychology at the Community College of Philadelphia in 2015, he has primarily focused on conducting research and preparing a document on macular degeneration for the Kraskin Invitational Skeffington Symposium on Vision in the Washington, D.C. area. In October 2016, he presented "From the Eyes to the Brain and Back Again: How to Teach Sensation and Keep Students Awake" at the Community College of Philadelphia's Teaching and Learning Center.
A licensed optometrist and psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rosenberg began preparing for his career by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Temple University. He then earned a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now known as Salus University. He started teaching at the school as an instructor in 1962, and advanced to assistant professor in 1965. The same year, he established a private optometry practice in Roslyn, Pa. He maintained the practice for 30 years. Meanwhile, Dr. Rosenberg joined the Community College of Philadelphia in 1967 as an assistant professor of psychology. He became an associate professor in 1976. From 1995 to 1998, Dr. Rosenberg was an associate at an optometry practice based in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.
In addition to these professional roles, Dr. Rosenberg utilized his expertise to contribute a number of articles to professional journals. He also presented at the Kraskin Invitational Skeffington Symposium on Vision in 1992, 1996 and 2004. Dr. Rosenberg remained active in his professional community as well. A fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, he is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, the Bucks-Montgomery Optometric Association. He has also maintained affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry Alumni Association, serving as vice president from 1992 to 1998, secretary from 1991 to 2006, and board member since 2006.
Aside from these achievements, Dr. Rosenberg was proud to have been named a Humanitarian by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains in 1980. His various accomplishments were taken into consideration when he was chosen to be featured in the 4th through 8th editions of Who's Who in American Education, the 24th through 43rd editions of Who's Who in the East, and the 32nd and 33rd editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business. Dr. Rosenberg has appeared in multiple editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
