An education administrator with more than four decades of professional experience, Mr. Freedman had excelled as an assistant principal for the Rahway, NJ Board of Education, a role that he held from 1998 until his retirement in 2005. Previously, he came to prominence in the school system in various roles, including program director of school development, area supervisor of language arts and physical education, department chairperson, and teacher of language arts and physical education. In addition, he has been tremendously involved with the Rahway Education Association, where he had served as its president. Highly regarded by his peers and colleagues for his professional excellence, Mr. Freedman was recognized for his work by Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Freedman earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bethel College in 1969 and a Master of Arts from Kean University (formerly Newark State College). Shortly thereafter, he achieved certification by the New Jersey State Department of Education in the areas of language arts, physical education, health, and educational administration and supervision. Then, to remain at the top of his field, Mr. Freedman became a member of ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), and the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association. In addition, he served as an advisory board member for the New Jersey State Department of Education and secondary school validation team chairperson for the Middle States Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.
