Supported by over three decades of practiced experience, Dr. Packer currently acts as a professor at Mott Community College, directing the choirs, teaching voice and piano proficiency. He is also the choir director for Mott Middle College, choir accompanist at Swartz Creek High School, director if the Flint Male Chorus, choir and handbell director at Flushing United Methodist Church, and music director for Swartz Creek Center Stage Community Theater. Upon his commencement from Central Michigan University, Dr. Packer began his professional life as an elementary school music teacher for LakeVille Community Schools. Subsequently, he became the music and Christian education director for Clare United Methodist Church, and the director of worship and music for Fenton United Methodist Church. Dr. Packer has also been a lecturer at Mid Michigan Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint, teaching voice studies and piano proficiency respectively.
An alumnus of Central Michigan University and the Institute of Worship Studies, Dr. Packer holds a Bachelor of Music Education, a Master of Music, and a Doctor of Worship Studies. His professional affiliations include the American Choral Directors Association, and the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. In recognition of his professional efforts, Dr. Packer was presented with National Religious Music Week Alliance Award of Merit, Music and Liturgy, and was featured in the 60th through 62nd editions of Who's Who in America.
