MARSHALL, MN, March 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. David Pichaske has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With a passion for literature and strong interest in poetry, Dr. Pichaske has demonstrated excellence as a language arts educator over the last four and a half decades. Teaching at the higher education level, he was a member of the faculty at Bradley University in Peoria, IL, from 1969 to 1980, during which time he advanced from assistant professor to associate professor. Since 1980, Dr. Pichaske has taken on additional roles in education, including associate professor to professor positions at Southwest Minnesota State University. Further, he has pursued opportunities internationally as a senior Fulbright lecturer for the University of Lodz in Poland, the University of Latvia, and the National University of Mongolia. In recognition of his professional excellence in his career, Dr. Pichaske was selected for inclusion into Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World.
In addition to his work as an educator, Dr. Pichaske is a published author. His two dozen books include "Beowulf to Beatles: Approaches to Poetry," "Writing Sense: A Handbook of Composition," "A Generation in Motion: Popular Music and Culture in the Sixties," "Chaucer's Literary Pilgrimage: Movement in the Canterbury Tales," "Late Harvest: Rural American Writing," "Poland in Transition," "Rooted: Seven Midwest Writers of Place," "Song of the North Country: Midwest Framework to the Songs of Bob Dylan," "Here I Stand" (memoir) and "crying in the Wilderness" (essays). For his excellent creative work, Dr. Pichaske was the recipient of a Minnesota Book award from the Minnesota Humanities Center. He is a member of the board of directors for Rural Lit R.A.L.L.Y., the Midwestern History Association, the Popular Music and Society, and the Minnesota Machinery Museum. As he looks to the future, Dr. Pichaske intends to continue teaching while pursuing creative projects in the years to come.
