For the past three decades, Dr. Bates has dedicated himself to his passion for medical science. He began on his professional path by earning a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University in 1982 and an MD from Tufts Medical School in 1986, and proceeded to use his education to build a thriving career. Since 1988, Dr. Bates has served as a pediatric radiologist at four hospitals, including Tripler Army Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, Madigan Army Medical Center, and Nationwide Children's Hospital, where he remains to this day. He is also a clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and an adjunct assistant professor of radiology at The Medical University of Ohio. To ensure that he remains current in his field, Dr. Bates maintains affiliation with the Radiological Society of North America and the Society for Pediatric Radiology.
In light of his achievements, Dr. Bates was the recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award in 2016 and a Decorated Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Army, and was named among the Best Doctors in America from 2011 to 2016. He was also honored with inclusion in every edition of Who's Who in America published between 2011 and 2016.
