A biochemist with more than 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Giraud is considered an expert in all areas of laboratory research and administration. Since 2004, he has served as senior scientist with the Swiss Laboratory for Doping Analysis, which is revered primarily for the research and detection of EPO doping and blood doping utilizing the Hematological Passport. At the laboratory, Dr. Giraud is involved with accreditation of homologous blood transfusion and was then the first to implement detection of last generation erythropoietin-stimulating agents and growth hormone in anti-doping laboratories. Since 2011, he has also served as quality manager with the same laboratory. Dr Giraud is involved with implementation of a management system for quality, administrative and technical operations. As a certified technology expert with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, he ensures that the lab complies with regulatory standards of excellence in all of its processes and testing.
To prepare for a career in biochemistry, Dr. Giraud pursued studies that gave way to an expertise in the chemical and physicochemical processes which occur within living organisms. A graduate of Lausanne University, he achieved a Master of Science in biochemistry in 1998 and a Ph.D. in science in 2003. Certified by the Swiss Accreditation Service, Dr. Giraud has continued with his professional development in the years since establishing his career by taking on opportunities in research and development and then in project management; for this, his skills as project manager were certified in 2016 by the International Project Management Association. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Giraud was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in the World.
As he enters the next phase of his career, Dr. Giraud intends to take on roles within the biochemical field that will enable him to contribute to science and research on a global level.
