CARDIFF, WALES, April 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Wen G. Jiang has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Since 1987, Dr. Jiang has focused his research on targeting cancer metastasis on molecular and cellular levels through innovative therapies. With a special concentration on metastasis related to tumors caused by breast, prostate, lung and gastrointestinal cancers, he has conducted research through the Cardiff University School of Medicine. Dr. Jiang, who currently serves as Dean of International and Director of the Cardiff China Medical Research Collaborative, is also a professor of surgery and tumor biology.
A former senior lecturer and senior fellow, Dr. Jiang began his career in academia in 1984, becoming a surgical resident at Peking University First Hospital in Beijing, where he later served as director of the Joint Cancer Institute. Prior, he received a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in clinical medicine from Peking University Health Science Centre, which was later followed by an MD research degree from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1995. Since then, he has contributed to articles in academic journals and other scholarly publications. In addition to being a prolific author, he has also written book sections and served as an editorial board member for more than 15 journals since 1999. Currently he serves as Editor-in-Chief for Cancer Metastasis, Biology and Treatment and World Journal of Oncology.
Dr. Jiang has recently been awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in recognition of his contribution to international cancer research. Dr. Jiang has also been recognized with honorary professorships at QingDao University, Inner Mongolia University, Capital Medical University and Peking University. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, as well as a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the British Association for Cancer Research, and the European Association for Cancer Research. Some of his recent speaking engagements include the 12th International Conference on Collateral Disease in Shanghai (2016) and the 19th World Congress on Advances in Oncology in Athens (2014), where he was presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award. Dr. Jiang has also been featured in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World.
