Margaret L. Kannenstine Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for Professional Contributions to Fine Art

Ms. Kannenstine received the Distinguished Public Service Award from the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies



    WOODSTOCK, VT, April 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margaret Lampe Kannenstine has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Upon earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis and pursuing postgraduate studies through the Art Students League, Ms. Kannenstine began to make her mark on the world of fine art. Since the mid-1970s, she has exhibited her work in a plethora of one-woman shows across Vermont, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, many galleries have hosted one-woman shows to display her pieces, including Red Mill Gallery, the Vermont Arts Council, Beside Myself Gallery, Windy Bush Gallery, Spheris Gallery, Cushing Academy Gallery, and Firehouse Center for the Arts. Others, including McGowan Fine Art, Chaffee Gallery, the Gallery of Graphic Art in New York City, Elsa Mott Ives Gallery, Two Rivers Print Studio, Spotlight Gallery, and the Fletcher Allen Health Center, have exhibited her work as part of group shows. Over the years, Ms. Kannenstine has had the honor of being represented in permanent collections at The Hood Museum, The Fleming Museum, The Columbus Museum of Art, The Springfield (MO) Museum, The Bennington Museum, Vermont Law School, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital, Union Mutual Insurance, and many others.

Notably, Ms. Kannenstine co-authored "From Luminous Shade" along with Ann McGarrell. Over the course of many years, she has been recognized for her work in the field. In 2002, she earned Citation for Achievement in the Arts by the Vermont Arts Council. Six years later, she received the Distinguished Public Service Award from the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies. Ms. Kannenstine has also been featured in eight editions of Who's Who in America, two editions of Who's Who in the World, and 20th through 28th editions of Who's Who of American Women.
