Dr. Kim currently serves as head doctor of the Department of Psychiatry at Mentor Clinic, a researcher & CEO of Mentor Lab., outpatient professor in the Department of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at Soonchunhyang University and Eulji University, and a member of the Council of Special Committee for Women and Families as well as the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association. She will soon be wrapping up her term as an Executive Board Member of Yonsei University Alumni Association, which she has held since 2014. At the start of her career, Dr. Kim joined Soonchunhyang University's School of Medicine in various capacities. She then served as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Kyunghee University School of Medicine. She was also active with the Korean Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry's Council of Research & Education committee.
Certified by the Ministry of Health & Welfare, the Korean Board of Psychiatry, the Korean Board of Geriatric Psychiatry and the Korean Board of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Kim earned a Ph.D. in Psychiatry from Soonchunhyang University's Graduate School of Medicine. During her graduate studies, she focused on the treatment of clozapine-induced obsessive-compulsive symptoms in schizophrenia patients and the factors associated with the persistence of treatment for ADHD based on the time from patient enrollment. She is a member of the Korean Neuropsychiatric Association, the Korean Academy of Anxiety Disorder, the Korean Society of Occupational Stress, the Korean Association for Trichology, the Korean Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, the Korea Women's Psychiatric Association, the Korean Academy of Adolescent Psychiatry, the Korean Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, among others.
Over the years, Dr. Kim has contributed her knowledge to various articles on such topics as brain activation in children with trichotillomania, infant play and attachment theory, development of Korean adult ADHD rating scale, receptor gene polymorphism and suicidal attempts influenced by drugs in Korea, and prevalence of current, and lifetime psychiatric disorders among former "Comfort Women," survivors of the Japanese military sexual slavery during World War II. She is mainly researching for special diseases relating to the emotional disorder and stressful alopecia as well as trichotillomania. She was recognized with the Health Industry Award from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2015 about Mentor Lab and the product BARAMO with her intellectual property of patent substances for alopecia as well as trichotillomania.
