Before establishing herself professionally, Ms. Singleton prepared for her career by investing in her education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Alabama in 1982, a Master of Public Health in maternal-child health from George Washington University in 1997 and a Master of Arts in counseling from Liberty University in 2010. To stay at the top of her field, Ms. Singleton is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the International Childbirth Education Association. She has served as a member of the low-risk neonatal test committee for the National Certification Corporation, a research associate for the NIH-DC Initiative to Decrease Infant Mortality in D.C., and lactation consultant and child birth educator at Mary Washington Healthcare.
