Mr. Craft is a retired manufacturing executive who devoted 21 years to the filtration solutions firm of Donaldson Company in Minneapolis. His particular specialty is hydraulics, and he served as a senior advisor to the automotive parts firm Global Aftermarket from 2000 to 2001. Mr. Craft has also led local philanthropic efforts on the board of the financial literacy and higher education organization Junior Achievement of The Upper Midwest, Inc.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Edmund Coleman and Ruth Irene Craft in 1939, Mr. Craft attended Lycoming College to earn a BS in 1963 before conducting postgraduate work at Syracuse University. He worked with the automotive powertrain manufacturer Borg-Warner Corporation in Detroit before joining the company's division in Hertfordshire, England for five years. In 1975, Mr. Craft was appointed the vice president of the hydraulics division at Borg-Warner, based in Wooster, Ohio. He served for four years before going on to Donaldson Company as director of sales & marketing of the hydraulics division, rising through the ranks to corporate vice president global aftermarket in 1983. He would go on to work for the company until 2000.
In addition to Junior Achievement, Mr. Craft has also taken on the post of divisional chairman of the nonprofit community support organization United Way. He led the Automotive Filter Manufacturers Council as vice chairman, chairman, and board director for many years. Mr. Craft is also a member of the Dataw Island Club, the Dataw Island Yacht Club, and the Beaufort Rowing Club. For his dedication to American manufacturing, Mr. Craft was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
