NORTH TONAWANDA, NY, August 03, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard Jenkins has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A retired information chief of the U.S. Army, Mr. Jenkins dedicated 23 years of his career serving the military through significant moments in the nation's history, including the Vietnam War, Korean War and Cold War. During his tenure, Mr. Jenkins achieved the ranks of sergeant first class E-7 and 25Z visual information chief. Regarded by his peers as a professional who was open-minded and helped others solve problems they may have had in the service, he feels that his greatest career achievement was running the Korean and Panama TV and radio services as chief of maintenance for both networks. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, Mr. Jenkins has continued to offer his time and efforts to support other veterans by volunteering at rehabs centers and involving himself in veteran programs.
In recognition of his professional excellence in the military, Mr. Jenkins earned two Meritorious Service Medals, three Commendation Medals, a Vietnam Service Medal with three strars, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1970 Device, a Meritorious Unit Citation, a Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, a Korean Defense Service Medal, a Cold War Certificate, a New York State Conspicuous Service Cross with Silver Device, a New York State Conspicuous Service Star with Silver Device, German Army Bronze and Silver Shooting Awards, and The German Army Reserve Silver Honor Pin. Considered an expert in computer consultations, Mr. Jenkins attributes his success to his self-motivation. Along the way, he has supported his career through his educational and professional affiliations. He holds an Associate of Applied Sciences in electrical engineering technology from Erie Community College and he is a member of the Dallas Safari Club, the National Rifle Association of America, The American Legion, and Vietnam Veterans of America. As he looks to the future, Mr. Jenkins hopes to teach at the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center while continuing to assist other veterans.
