Ms. Boe is a retired Norwegian systems engineer of IBM Norway AS in Oslo, currently offering her services as a freelancing computer consultant and webmaster. She worked for IBM through the '80s and early '90s, in an era when personal computing was entering every home and workplace. It was a prolific period for research and development, and Ms. Bøe accrued a 1986 IBM Professional Excellence Award as well as IBM Professional Marketing Awards in 1988 and 1990. At IBM, Ms. Boe's special fields were PC architecture, PC to mainframe communication and local area networking. She has later specialized in web development and webmastering.
Born in Oslo to Willi Bøe and Aslaug Boe Hansen in 1958, Ms. Boe graduated as a Candidata Magisterii from the University of Oslo in 1982. Fresh from the university, she was hired by IBM as a systems engineer, and served the company until 1992. She married oyvind Kvernvold Myhre in May of that year. The couple had two children, Torstein Kvernvold Myhre (b. 1992) and Ingunn Kvernvold Myhre (b. 2000)
Ms. Boe worked to care for her family while offering her services as a freelancing computer consultant and webmaster in her home of Gran. Additionally, she has served her community as a member of the board a number of local organizations, among them the Grymyrgjengen Choir and Theatre Group for Children, Vestre Gran Idrettslag (Western Gran Sports Club), the Gran chapter of Mental Helse (Mental Health) and the Gran Chapter of Foreningen Norden (The Nordic Association). Ms. Boe has also served with the local civic development group Fokus Vestre Gran. In 2013, she served as co-producer and chief IT officer for the outdoor stage play Randsfjordspelet, a play about one of Norway's longest labor conflicts, which took place in the lumber industry in the Randsfjord area in the 1930s.
