Dr. Choi, who was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea, spent time in both her native country as well as in the United States, studying and working in the fields of computer and information science. Completing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Ewha Womans University in Seoul in 1988, she later earned a Master of Science in Computer and Information Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, U.S., in 1993. Shortly after, Dr. Choi accepted her first position as an analyst for Johnson & Johnson HCS, Inc. in Piscataway, N.J.
Moving to the windy city of Chicago three years later, Dr. Choi became a senior systems analyst for Cargill Investor Services, Inc., before making her way to Myongji College in Korea to teach as an adjunct professor. Juggling work and school, she pursued a PhD in Educational Technology at Ewha Womans University, later becoming a postdoctoral researcher and research professor at the university. In 2009, Dr. Choi became an associate professor at Chuncheon National University of Education, where she still teaches today.
A career that has led her to serve on the Korean Society of Educational Technology since 2011, the Korean Association for Educational Information and Media on the board of directors since 2010, the Korea Association of Information, Education and Research since 2011, Dr. Choi has also been fortunate enough to contribute articles to professional publications and translate a book, "21st Century E-Learning". Dr. Choi was a grantee through the National Research Foundation of Korea in 2013. Most recently, she was included in the 33rd edition of Who's Who in the World for her dedication to the field.
