Established in 1982, WSH has become one of the world's leading spine-specialized treatment facilities, following a philosophy of using minimally invasive surgery and techniques. Currently managing 10 hospitals throughout Korea, WSH has expanded into Indonesia, the UAE, Turkey, and China, with the main facility in Seoul.
Completing an MD at the Chung-Ang University College of Medicine, followed by a Master of Science in Medical Science and PhD in Medical Science at the university's graduate school, Dr. Kim entered the field as a staff surgeon for the department of orthopedic surgery at the Seoul Metropolitan Medical Center in 2007. Less than two years later, he was taken on board at WSH as an assistant director for the department of orthopedic surgery. Exploring a new role as chief director for the spine center at Hyundae General Hospital from 2010 to 2013, he later returned to WSH to serve as chief.
A certified specialist through the Korean Orthopedic Surgery Association since 2003, Dr. Kim is a member of the Korean Society of Spine Surgery, the Korean Orthopedic Association, the North American Spine Society, and the Korean Cervical Spine Research Society. The author of his first book, "Anatomy in Orthopaedics Surgery," Dr. Kim was recently selected to be featured in the 33rd edition of Who's Who in the World in 2016. Married to Ha Na Kim, Dr. Kim is the father of two children: Gyutae and Juyeon.
