In the years since, Dr. Martyn has been invited to perform at venues across the world, including Wigmore Hall in London, Playel Hall in Paris and Merkin Hall in New York City. She was a soloist at the Southwest Symphony of Utah in 2006, and has performed at numerous benefit concerts, which were facilitated by organizations such as the District of Columbia Performing Arts Center, KLON Public Radio, Rotary Club Benefit for the Needy and Hellenic University Club.
A successful educator, Dr. Martyn is the owner and founder of the Martyn School of Music, which was established in 1973 in Los Alamitos, CA. She is also a founder of the Philip Martyn Center of Fine Arts, where she has served as the chair of the keyboard department for more than four decades. In an effort to remain active and engaged among her professional circles, Dr. Martyn maintains involvement with the National Association of Music Teachers, International Association of Music Competitions and International Music Fraternity. She is also honorary member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity and was named to the National Guild of Piano Teachers' hall of fame in 1989.
Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Martyn has appeared as a guest speaker on a wide range of topics, including arts and letters, international economy and geopolitics. To date, she has been a contributor to Radio Fetzer in Minnesota and Hellas FM in New York City. Dr. Martyn has also served as a lecturer, adjudicator and demonstrator for numerous competitions, seminars and workshops.
An accomplished author, Dr. Martyn is credited with writing "Art of Piano Playing" and "The Root Of The Evil." Published in 2005, "The Root Of The Evil" explores all wars of the 20th century, beginning with the First World War. It also describes the creation of a small clique of powerful men, who act secretly, systematically, invisibly, and who have the power and the financial freedom to buy not only the conscience of individuals, but also the consciences of political leaders and to influence nations, governments, religions and political beliefs.
Dr. Martyn has been featured in a wide range of honors publications, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in the World. She was the recipient of an Honorary Award in Athens, First Prize with Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory in Athens, The Andreas Sygros Gold Medal from the Greece Minister of Culture and Award of Merit from the Knights of Pythias.
