Dr. Sung is a research professor at Chungnam National University in the Republic of Korea and an expert in information processing, known for her work in developing secure multiparty electronic commerce systems. She transitioned into the field from being a mother of four and a career as an English teacher. Today, Dr. Sung produces scholarly research on cloud algorithms, big data, authentication, and sensor network technology, which are all used by an increasingly digital international marketplace.
Born in Daegu in the North Gyeonsang province of the Republic of Korea to Moonkyung Sung and Jinsik Jung in 1960, Dr. Sung was certified as a junior teacher by the Ministry of Education in 1983. She married Gobong Choi early in that year, and had four children, Donghyuk, Dongjoon, Jiyoung, and Dongryong. In 1996, she returned to academia as an English lecturer at Eoeun Elementary School in Daejeon, before becoming a lecturer with the Yuseong District Office in the area. She taught at DaeDuk College from 2000 to 2004 while earning a PhD from Chungnam National University in 2005.
Dr. Sung transitioned into lecturing at Chungnam from 2002 to 2005, going on to conduct research there in 2006. She produced numerous scientific papers and became a member of the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers, as well as the Korea Information Processing Society and the Korean Society of Internet Information. As of 2011, she holds the post of visiting professor with Chungnam, and continues to produce information technology. For her achievements in both the domestic and professional field, Dr. Sung was welcomed into numerous volumes of Who's Who in the World from 2010 to 2016, as well as the 2012 volume of Who's Who in Asia. She enjoys taking walks, painting, music, badminton, and playing the piano.
