With more than a decade of professional excellence under his belt, Dr. Jeong serves as the team leader and the head of automotive radar for Mando Corporation's DAS Center for global research and development, where he has worked since 2015. Prior to obtaining this role, he worked for nearly a decade as Mando Corporation's senior research engineer and project leader for the Central Research & Development Center.
A graduate of Sogang University, Dr. Jeong holds a Bachelor of Science and PhD in Electronics Engineering. In order to keep engaged in the field, he affiliates himself with The Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, the International Journal of Automotive Technology, and the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology. Throughout his career, he has contributed his plethora of knowledge to numerous projects for the advanced development of 24GHz/77GHz automotive radar, a 77GHz long range radar, and the advanced development of a 77/79GHz medium range radar and short range radar. Especially, his team first launched 77GHz automotive radar in Korea in 2014. As a result of this achievement, Mando Corporation currently has a plan to produce millions of 77GHz automotive radar sensors before 2020.
A seasoned professional with many years of experience in his field, Dr. Jeong has been awarded on many occasions for his work. In 2010, he earned the Paper of the Year Award through the ETRI Journal. That same year, he won The Most Innovative Technology Expo Award through Mando Corporation. Additionally, Dr. Jeong won the Jang Yeong-sil Award through the Korea Industrial Technology Association in 2016.
