A professional engineer and entrepreneur, Mr. Park is a principal research engineer for TIDE Institute, located in Seoul City since 2017. The Korean non-profit organization provides access to facilities, mentorship, and resources to entrepreneurs and tech start-ups. TIDE, which stands for Technology, Imagination, Design, Entrepreneurship, has various initiatives and programs to encourage and support entrepreneurs with four main initiatives and includes a curriculum designed to encourage advanced, trailblazing startups, workshops, a membership seminar, and a 3-day startup springboard competition to discover talented entrepreneurs as well as build start-up networks in both local and international cities. Since joining TIDE Institute in 2017, Mr. Park formed his own business COCOZ, Inc., as chief executive officer.
Previously, Mr. Park was a principal research engineer for the Gyeong-gi Small and Medium Business Association in Suwon-city from 2012 to 2017. He also spent time as a senior engineer with ZAM Company, Ltd., senior designer with Aboutdesign Company, Ltd., and product designer with Maxontelecon Company, Ltd. Mr. Park is active as a member of the Korean Professional Engineers Association, as well as the Korean Institute of Developer Start-Up Association, where he has also been a steering committee member since 2017.
Recognized multiple times for his work, Mr. Park has been the recipient of a 2013 Certificate of Commendation granted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and received a Good Design Selection by the Kora Institute of Design Promotion several times. Mr. Park previously won a Corporation Lighting Architect Design Competition Excellence Award in 2010, and is also a member of the Gyeong-gi Techno Park, where he has been serving as a technical doctor since 2014. Furthermore, Mr. Park is an active member of the Korea Idea Commercialization Knowledge Institute, the HRD Korea Professional, and several other organizations.
Mr. Park served in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps from 1997 to 1999. Receiving his education, first at National Kangwon University in 2002, he later earned a Bachelor's degree at Hanyang University in 2012. He holds certifications as a professional engineer of product design and industrial engineer of product design, both granted by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and is a certified craftsman of wood handicraft and craftsman of advertisement painting. Married to Hyo-eun since 2007, with whom he had two children, Mr. Park loves to spend his free time with his family. He also loves fishing.
