As a seasoned professional with a plethora of experience teaching 45 different subjects at colleges and universities, he aims to improve the physical, spiritual dimensions of all drawing upon his extensive involvements in the community. He served as the first executive director of the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto building, and later as chair of the society's Patrons Council. Additionally, he was director of a health education agency that launched the National Eating Disorder Center at Toronto Hospital.
A graduate of York University, Wilfrid Laurier University and the University of Toronto, Dr. Andreae holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology, a Master's in clinical social work, and a doctorate in education. A believer in lifelong learning through non-formal education, he also completed a doctorate of science specializing in neuroscience. He holds diplomas in advanced stress management and a postgraduate certificate in neuropsychophysiology.
Over the years, Dr. Andreae has been searching for ways to give back to society and currently serves as an honorary patron with Brain Injury Canada, chair of the Patrons Council of the Canadian Abilities Foundation, and chair of the Interdisciplinary Advisory Committee of the Psychology Foundation of Canada. He is also the chair of the advisory council for the Weizmann Institute of Science in Canada. He was drawn to this world-leading institute by the energy, creativity, and interdisciplinary approach of the institute, and is interested in advancing brain science. He supports a research laboratory with Weizmann, and hopes to make contributions to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, brain injuries, and autism, among others investigating how nature and nurture interact.
For his many notable contributions to community and society, Dr. Andreae has received numerous awards, honors and recognitions from academia, governments, community organizations and professional associations.
