Since 1977, Dr. Landry has been a practicing foot and ankle surgeon in the Kansas City, Missouri area, with a latter practice in Overland Park. He is a recognized expert with local medical centers, and founded the Kansas City Podiatric Residency Program in 1982. Dr. Landry loves to put his feet on the ground running marathons across all 50 states of the union, and is most proud of having served the country with the U.S. Air Force.
Born to John Edward and Daphne Landry in Washington, D.C., Dr. Landry was skilled at biology and excelled with memorizing mass details, scoring at the top of his tenth grade biology class. He had a good friend that made becoming a doctor appealing, and studied podiatry with the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Landry served with the U.S. Air Force from 1975 to 1977 before establishing his general practice in Kansas City and Overland Park. Over the course of his clinical career, he has also taught with the University of Health Sciences, The College of Podiatric Medicine And Surgery at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, and the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri.
In addition to maintaining his practice, Dr. Landry has served with the advisory board of the Rockport Shoe Company, and chaired the podiatry department of Park Lane Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, and has held leadership positions with the Kansas Podiatric Medical Association, the American Board of Primary Podiatric Medicine, the Holy Cross Social Club, and the Johnson County Community College.
Among his many memberships, Dr. Landry is notably an honorary member of the British Podiatry Association and a member of numerous marathon running clubs. In his civic duty, Dr. Landry has consulted with the Mid-America Track and Field Association of Kansas, and supported the Boy Scouts of America, the Johnson County Soccer League, Catholic Youth Organization Basketball, and his local baseball league.
For dedication to podiatric health, Dr. Landry has received a 1975 President's Award from the Ohio School of Podiatric Medicine and a 1973-1975 U.S. Air Force scholarship from the Armed Forces Health Professions. He was selected for inclusion in numerous volumes of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in the Midwest, and Who's Who in the World, as well as two volumes of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and the 2003 to 2004 volume of Who's Who in Science and Engineering. Dr. Landry is the proud parent of John Ryan, Christopher John, and Jessica Marie, alongside his wife Mary Ann Kotey. In addition to marathons, he also enjoys participating in triathlons and going skiing.
