Specializing in the practice of general neurology, with subspecialties in Parkinson's Disease, movement disorders, facial pain, and Alzheimer's Disease, Dr. Kessler is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Kessler's practice currently has 10 full-time neurologists as well as a supportive team of nurses, therapists, and office staff.
Receiving his medical training at Cornell University with the completion of an MD in 1969, Dr. Kessler previously did his undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Cornell Medical Center and residency in neurology before becoming chief resident. He has since become an assistant professor of neurology and director of resident training at New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ, and a clinical associate professor at Cornell University Medical College and New York University Medical College. He is also an attending physician at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, and St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY.
Dr. Kessler is currently serving on the Landmark Review Board at Kings Point, NY, since 2014. He has served as a consultant for various hospitals, was a staff neurologist at East Orange VA Hospital and Martland Hospital, served as president of the medical staff of North Shore University Hospital, and served on the Peer Review Board of the Nassau County Medical Society as its chairman. He has authored various publications, including in Annals of Internal Medicine, the Journal of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, and contributed to the 1989 publication, "Management of Facial Head and Neck Pain."
A fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the American Medical Association and Medical Society of the State of New York, Dr. Kessler has been the recipient of a 2011 North Shore University Hospital Staff President's Award. Additionally, he has been named to Castle Connolly Long Island Top Doctors every year since 2008, New York Magazine's Best Doctors in 1999, Castle Connolly New York Metro Area's Top Doctors every year since 1998, and has been included in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare's first edition in 1996.
After completing his MD, Dr. Kessler served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve between 1971 to 1977. Dr. Kessler married Ilana Camille Hercz in 1983. He has a total of four children. When he isn't busy at work, he enjoys playing tennis and golf, skiing, and collecting wine.
