A retired marketing and real estate appraisal professional, Ms. Tresslar spent many years in the business world building up a solid reputation in her field of expertise. For much of the 1970s, she worked for Washington Appraiser/Assessor Pierce County Assessor's Office in Tacoma as a real estate appraiser. She then earned the opportunity to advance, gaining employment at Otero Savings & Loan in Colorado Springs as a chief appraiser. Serving in this capacity for just a year, she used the experience to propel her career forward and, by 1978, she had gone into business for herself as a co-owner and private fee appraiser of N.W.S. & Associates. A successful venture, Ms. Tresslar was in business for 12 years before making the decision to retire.
A talented artist, during her years in business, Ms. Tresslar was known as owner, president, and designer for N.V.S. Enterprises in the same town in which she worked for nine years. In the 1990s, she became involved in several different roles, serving as a director of marketing for U.S. West Education Foundation in Seattle and as founder and executive director for Northwest Baby Talk, and then as a fund developer and public relations manager for Child Abuse Prevention Resources. Presently, she is an artist with work in private, corporate, and public collections.
In the late 1990s, Ms. Tresslar became more involved in her community. She spent nine years as a member of the cultural enrichment advisory council for MetroParks of Tacoma/Pierce County from 1997 to 2006. Then, in 2009, she spent years as a member of the MultiCare Patient & Family Advocacy Council. She has also been involved in a number of organizations, including the National Organization of Women, the National Association of Female Executives, the National Collage Society, the Pacific Gallery Artists, and Puget Sound Sumi Artists. She has also served as a candidate, treasurer, and board of directors for Society of Real Estate Appraisers. Ms. Tresslar studied at the University of Puget Sound from 1959 to 1962, and later became the first woman to be certified as a real estate appraiser in Washington state. During her years in business, she earned a Women at Work Award by the Council for Working Women in 1985, a Public Service Award by the Colorado Springs Association of Life Underwriters in 1985, and a Booster of the Year Award and Salesman with a Purpose Award, both in 1986. She has been featured in several editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who of American Women, as well as Who's Who in Society and the World's Who's Who of Women. Married to Guy E. Tresslar since 1997, Ms. Tresslar has two children from a previous marriage. In her free time, she loves to travel, paint, do photograph and crafts, and volunteer.
