A registered professional engineer in multiple states, Mr. Cartlidge began working for himself as a private consultant in 2013 after spending more than 40 years in the field. His extensive engineering background included working in various roles for multiple, well-known organizations, the first of which was as a performance engineer for Foster Wheeler Corporation in 1969. Climbing the ranks, Mr. Cartlidge spent time as a consultant engineer for Fluor, Sargent & Lundy, senior research and development engineer for Yarway Corporation, and senior project manager for Conmec, Inc.
Mr. Cartlidge then ran his own business, Edward S. Cartlidge, PE and Associates, from 1993 to 2000, before taking on the opportunity to work as a manager of facilities engineering for Cardinal Health, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL. Over the course of the next decade, he accepted opportunities with All Star Services, PSEG, and a few other companies. From February 2013 to September 2016, he also served as a certified building commissioning professional and MEP professional engineer of record at Princeton University.
Active in his field, Mr. Cartlidge is a member and chapter president of the National Society of Professional Engineers as well as a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning Engineers, and the American Solar Association, and the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers. He is also known locally as a member of the board of directors for the Grand Old Gospel Fellowship and as a member of Gideons International.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1968, Mr. Cartlidge earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1971, a Master of Business Administration at Temple University in 1982, and a Master of Arts at the Biblical Theological Seminary in 2001. From 1968 to 1991, he also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve Commander. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Wisconsin, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico, and is a certified building commissioning professional.
Mr. Cartlidge received the Young Engineer of the Year award in 1980 by the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers. He has also been included in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1998, as well as many editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the World, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
