PHOENIX, AZ, November 14, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Vicki Ann Edwards, EdD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Dr. Edwards celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Edwards has come a long way since she first entered academia in 1972 as a language arts teacher for the Arlington Public Schools in her home state of Nebraska. After spending eight years teaching in the classroom, three of which were also spent at Glendale Elementary School District in Arizona from 1977 to 1980, she was accepted to teach as a reading specialist at Deer Valley School District in Phoenix, where she was named Teacher of the Year for the exceptional role she played in the classroom. Teaching for several years in the district, she eventually had the opportunity for promotion, earning the title of principal. Years later in 2004, she stepped down to serve as the director of assessment and student achievement, a position she held until 2010 when she retired. However, she did not completely retire, as she now supervises student teachers and teaches online educational leadership classes for Arizona State University.
As a result of her work in education, Dr. Edwards was honored with a Mentor Teacher Award from Midland Lutheran College in 2004. She subsequently served an eight year term on Midland's Alumni Board, serving as president of the board for two of those years.
Affiliated with several relative professional organizations such as the International Reading Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum and Development, the National Council of Teachers of English, and Arizona School Administrators. Dr. Edwards has been highlighted in Who's Who in America numerous times since 2000. She has also been included in Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in the West, and Who's Who of American Women since 1998 for her work. Married to Charles Douglas Edwards since 1977, she has one child and one grandchild. She loves to read, listen to music and play the piano, and do needle craft.
In recognition of outstanding contributions to her profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Vicki Ann Edwards, EdD, has been featured on the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
