Budd Jaye Hallberg Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    GETTYSBURG, PA, November 30, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Budd Jaye Hallberg with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Hallberg celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. A retired management consulting firm executive who worked in the industry for over 40 years, Mr. Hallberg spent the majority of his career as the president of SCAN Management Inc., from 1985 to 2007. He previously served in various other roles, including vice president of Heinold Commodities Inc., from 1983 to 1985 and director of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission from 1976 to 1983. Mr. Hallberg was a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange from 1974 to 1976. He was vice president of both Hornblower & Weeks, Hemphill-Noyes Inc., and Dominick & Dominick Inc., after serving a four-year term with Francis I. DuPont & Company which began in 1967.

Highly educated, Mr. Hallberg earned an MA at Goddard College in 1980, followed by a Diploma from the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College in 1981. He holds a certificate from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a second certificate from Yale University, and later completed coursework at Harvard University in 2006. In 2018, Mr. Hallberg will have completed a certificate in higher education through the University of Oxford in England.

Mr. Hallberg was a professor and taught philosophy and logic at the Harrisburg Area Community College from 2004 to 2017. He was a member of the board of directors for the college's Foundation from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, for eight years, Mr. Hallberg was a professor of business and finance in the graduate school of business at Mount St. Mary's University. He noted that teaching had been the highlight of his professional career. Mr. Hallberg said, "he learned more from his students than he could have ever taught them."

A member of the board of directors for the Adams County Office for Aging, Inc., in Gettysburg from 2016 to 2017, Mr. Hallberg also serves as a member of the citizen advocate team for the American Association of Retired Persons. He is a former member of the zoning hearing board for Mount Joy Township and former commissioner of the township's planning commission.

In addition to contributing numerous articles in his field, Mr. Hallberg has authored four books. They are: Alzheimer's Disease: A Guide to Caregiving (2016) , Alzheimer's Disease: A Potential $1.1 Trillion Call for Innovative Financial Products and Meaningful Tax reform (2015), Return to First Principles (in 2009 and 2012) and How to Be An Effective Litigation Consultant and Expert Witness in 2010. The last three books he wrote have been the recipient of The Eric Hoffer Book Award for excellence in independent publishing.

A member of numerous organizations, including the Swedish Colonial Society, the Society of the Cincinnati, the St. Nicholas Society of New York, the Rotary Club International, Colonial Society of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Society of Sons of the Revolution, the Army and Navy Club, and Racquet Club of Philadelphia. Mr. Hallberg is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve since 2002. The recipient of a U.S. Federal Government Meritorious Service Award, he has been included in countless editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in the East, and Who's Who in the World since 1992.
