Mr. Fawcett is an archivist who has been running his own business, John T. Fawcett and Associates, Inc., in Washington, D.C., as president since 1995. His lengthy and successful career history, which began to take shape in the early 1960s while working as both an archivist and museum technician at the Herbert Hoover Library in West Branch, IA, aims to progress in the years to come. He earned the opportunity to work as an archivist for the Office of Presidential Libraries in Washington, D.C., and later became a military aide to the President of the United States in 1968 and later the executive office in Austin, TX. Furthermore, he was a supervisory archivist for the Lyndon B. Johnson Library in Austin, TX, and returned to the Office of Presidential Libraries as a supervisory and acting director. Mr. Fawcett was appointed Assistant Archivist of the United States for Presidential Libraries in 1987, where he served until his retirement from the federal government in 1995.
In addition to his full-time career, Mr. Fawcett formerly led the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association as trustee, also serving as an associate trustee for the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library from 2002 to 2007. He was also an archive consultant for Baylor University, and worked as an archive consultant and trustee for the Mary Baker Eddy Library until 2017.
Mr. Fawcett holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and a Master's degree from the University of Texas. He has been highlighted in every edition of Who's Who in America since 1994, every edition of Who's Who in the World since 2006, every edition of Who's Who in the East since 2009, and every edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest between 2001 and 2008.
