Dr. Lee currently works as a senior engineer for LG Electronics, a position he has held since 2016. Here, he applies his past expertise in circuit design and control algorithm design into his research as a member of their solar system development team. Prior to this position, he served as sergeant in charge of supervising homeland reserve forces training for the Korean Army from 2001 to 2003.
Dr. Lee began his professional path by enrolling at Hanyang University in Seoul, where he initially earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering in 2007. He continued his studies at Hanyang University, receiving a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2009 as a result. He then traveled to the United States to earn a PhD in electrical engineering in 2015 from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lee has gained experience with various devices and areas of research within his industry. He has had hands-on experiences with Flyback converters, LLC resonant converters, NPC Multi-level inverters, LCL filter designs, Hybrid Multi-level inverters, and Dual-Active Bridge DC-AC inverters. Additionally, he has been researching with TMS320VC33, TMS320F28335, TMS320F2812, C language on various topics including LCL filter control, multiple reference frame theory, MPPT control algorithms, and Anti-Islanding detection algorithms. He also held a forum on the Issues between the Saemangeum Reclamation Project and environment protection while at Hanyang University.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Lee has received several honors and appointments over the course of his career. He was recognized as a member of the Erdia Club, a reading and debate club at Hanyang University, from 2000 to 2007. During this time, he was appointed as to the position of president of the organization in 2003. Additionally, he received a Science and Technology Scholarship, a Brain Korea 21 Fellowship, a Scholarship from Hanyang University, and a National Science Foundation grant for the FREEDM System Project.
A resident of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Dr. Lee is married to Yeonwoo Jang. Looking towards the future, he aims to continue building his career, contributing to the field, and cementing his status as an integral figure in Korea's ever-growing Engineering industry.
