Robert Saul Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    GREENVILLE, SC, December 15, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert Saul, MD, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. With nearly 40 years of experience in medicine, Dr. Saul has been the senior medical director of general pediatrics at Greenville Health System since 2013. Here, he is involved in teaching medical students and pediatric residents, handling administrative work, and offering primary care. Prior to his current role, he was senior clinical geneticist with the Greenwood Genetic Center from 1979 to 2013, and a pediatrician with the Greenwood Community Children's Center from 1979 to 2003.

Dr. Saul began his career at Colorado College, obtaining an undergraduate degree in 1972, before going to earn an MD at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1976. He completed an internship and a residency in pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center. He is licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina, and he is certified in clinical genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Saul has served on various committees, including as a trustee for the South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness from 1999 to 2003, as president of the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce in 2001, and as president of the medical staff for Self Regional Healthcare in 1999. He has been fellow and board member of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, as well as a fellow and longtime member of the executive committees of the Section on Genetics and Birth Defects and the Committee on Genetics for the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been included in the fourth and fifth edition of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare. He is married to Jan Hemminger, and has two sons. Dr. Saul recently authored "My Children's Children: Raising Young Citizens in the Age of Columbine" in 2013, and "All About Children" in 2017.
