With more than 20 years of experience in law, Mr. Marshall has worked as an assistant district attorney with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office since 2015. Prior to obtaining his current role, he was a prosecutor with the District Attorney's Office in Calhoun County from 2001 to 2015. Earlier in his career, he worked in civil litigation practice in 1997. In addition to his work in the field, he served as adjunct professor with the Birmingham School of Law from 1997 to 2004.
Mr. Marshall began his career at an early age, working while in high school, met an administrative assistant to the mayor, who was a lawyer, which inspired him to pursue a career in law. He joined Samford University as a student, obtaining a BS in 1992. He went on to study law at the Birmingham School of Law, earning a JD, with honors, in 1996. He has been admitted to practice in the state of Alabama, and by the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama. He is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, an associate member of the Alabama District Attorneys Association, and a past president of the Calhoun and Cleburne County Bar Association.
As a respected voice in the field, Mr. Marshall has received numerous awards throughout his career for his contributions. The Calhoun and Cleburne County Bar Association has named him Lawyer of the Year in 2006, and he has been the recipient of a Continuing Legal Education Award from the Alabama State Bar. Additionally, he was a member of the graduating class of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum, Class II, in 2006. Looking toward the future, Mr. Marshall intends to continue to prosecute criminal cases and help victims get justice.
