With more than 35 years of experience in the legal industry, Mr. Schimpf has been an attorney and managing shareholder with Weems, Schimpf, Haines, Landry, Shemwell, & Moore since 1982. His areas of expertise include personal injury, product liability, insurance, environmental and mass tort litigations, and commercial, oil and gas, and general litigation. In addition, he is well versed in family law, including divorce, custody, alimony and support, marriage contract, and community property resolution. In addition to his primary role, he worked part time with the district attorney's office from 1982 to 1986, and he previously worked as an assistant district attorney with Caddo Parish from 1979 to 1982.
Mr. Schimpf began his career as a student at Louisiana State University, graduating with a Bachelor of General Studies, with honors, in 1976. He went on to join the school's Paul M. Hebert Law Center, earning a JD in 1979. He has been certified in family and civil law mediation, and is admitted to practice in the state of Louisiana and before the United States Federal Court.
As an expert in the field, Mr. Schimpf is affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including the Shreveport and Bossier Bar Associations, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
