Having greatly contributed to her field as a leader in environmental business, Ms. Hall is currently an environmental consulting services executive as well as a chief executive officer of Normandeau Associates Inc. Ms. Hall began her path to professional success in 1966, when she obtained BA in Zoology from the University of Connecticut. Following her graduation, she worked as a research assistant at the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, IL. She then resumed her academic studies in 1967 at the University of New Hampshire, receiving a MS in Zoology in 1969 and continued on in the Doctoral program until 1971 when she took a leave of absence.
While studying at the University of New Hampshire, Ms. Hall was a teaching assistant between 1967 and 1970. She followed this opportunity by working as a scientist and program manager for Normandeau Associates Inc. from 1971 through 1979 before returning to the University of New Hampshire, earning a BS in Business Administration, summa cum laude, in 1982. During this period, she remained at Normandeau Associates Inc., where she was promoted to programs and operations manager, a position she retained until 1983 when she became the company's vice president. Ms. Hall was also a postgraduate student at Tufts University between 1986 and 1990.
From 1986 through 1987, Ms. Hall served as the senior vice president of Normandeau Associates Inc., becoming president (and chief executive officer (CEO)) in 1988. She retained this position until 2015, when she was elected chair of the company's board of directors which she had served on since 2000. She is currently CEO of the company as well as board chair. As a member of the Portsmouth, NH Conservation Commission from 1977 through 1990, Ms. Hall fulfilled various civic responsibilities which contributed to the health of the local environment. She also was a member of the Great Bay (NH) Estuarine Research Reserve Technical Working Group between 1986 and 1989. Ms. Hall was a trustee for the Trust for New Hampshire Lands from 1990 to 1993 as well as for the New Hampshire Chapter of Nature Conservancy from 1991 to 1999 where she was a founding board member and chair for several years. For the New Hampshire Charitable Fund, Ms. Hall served as an Incorporator and grant reviewer for the Switzer Foundation. Ms. Hall was a member of the board of advisors for Vivamos Major for many years beginning in 1990. She has served on the board of directors for the Environmental Business Council of New England since 1995 and has been treasurer since 1997. Ms. Hall was a board member emeritus for Phinizy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta, GA from 1997 through 2000. She was appointed as a commissioner by the NH Governor to the New Hampshire Land and Heritage Commission from 1998 and 1999, and was on the advisory board for the New Hampshire Corporation of Wetlands Restoration for several years beginning in 2003. She was a founding board member of the New Hampshire Chapter of The Nature Conservancy in 1991 and served on that board for 17 years including chair and vice chair roles. She also served on the board of directors for Seacoast Science Center, Rye, NH, beginning in 2004 and was chair for three years. In addition she served on the board of directors of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests for six years. She is also a member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire and an advocacy council member for UNH Works. Recently, she was elected to the NH EPSCoR Statewide Committee and to the UNH Manchester Advisory Board. In 2008 the governor of NH appointed her to Volunteer NH, a state commission that administers the State AmeriCorps programs and is responsible for promoting volunteerism and community service, particularly for people in need. She served on that commission for nine years, with four as chair and four as vice chair. She was elected chair emerita in 2017. Ms. Hall is a member of various esteemed environmental and academic organizations such as National Audubon Society, Audubon Society of New Hampshire, The Nature Conservancy and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and was elected to both Phi Sigma and Sigma Xi, honorary scientific societies, while a graduate student. As a leader of an environmental business, Ms. Hall was a recipient of the Environmental Leadership Award from the Environmental Business Council of New England in 1988. She received the Outstanding Business Women Award from the New Hampshire Business Review in 2012, as well as the Above & Beyond Award from the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association in 2014. In 2017, Ms. Hall received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Business and Industry Association of NH for her achievements in business and her involvement in volunteerism and community service. Ms. Hall received a Graham Foundation scholarship in 1966 and was a National Defense Education Act fellow from 1970 to 1971.
The daughter of LeRoy Warren and Frances May (Murray) Sheely, she was born on September 4, 1944 in Hartford, Connecticut. She was married to Stuart R. Hall (deceased) on July 21, 1967.
Ms. Hall has been featured in various Marquis Who's Who publications, including the 25th, 26th, 34th, 35th, 36th, and 37th editions of Who's Who in Finance and Business. She also has appeared in the 1st through 11th editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and 1st and 2nd editions of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
