Prior to obtaining these positions, he was a senior manager with Wipro Limited, a senior project manager with Nissan's technical center, and a manager of advanced engineering and software development with Lohitsa Inc. Earlier in his career, he worked as a scientist and assistant director at the National Aerospace Laboratories, and as visiting faculty with the Georgia Institute of Technology at Department of Aerospace Engineering, Center for Computational Mechanics.
Dr. Narayana hails from Basavapatna, a village on the banks of River Kaveri in southern India born to Phalachandramurthy and Ananthalakshmi; and is married to Geetha with a son Ojus. After his early schooling in his village, he went on to earn BS in mechanical engineering from Mysore University and MS in aeronautical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology. He started his career as a scientist in National Aerospace Laboratories. He later earned a PhD in engineering science form Indian Institute of Science for his insightful work on finite element method in his early career.
Throughout his career Dr. Narayana has lent his knowledge to a number of professional publications in many refereed international journals such as IJNME and presented many in international conferences such as SAE in the fields of finite element method, composite structures, fracture mechanics, smart structures and automotive engineering applications. His contributions in developing indigenous engineering methods and solutions for automotive applications has earned him a copyright and many patents. He has guided many post-graduate and doctoral students in completing their theses. He has been honored through his career for his contributions including the prestigious Young Scientist Award from Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, India.
