TOKYO, JAPAN, March 28, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Emiko Magoshi has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Emiko Magoshi is Professor of International Management at J.F. Oberlin University. She is also Founder and President of the Transcultural Management Society. She is a Board member of several academic societies including the Japan Academy of International Business Studies and the Japan Society for Business Ethics.
Her research field is transcultural and diversity management. Based on her service at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government as a Commissioner of Labor Relations Board from 2007 through 2013 she is also well versed in labor management relations in Japanese companies.
In June 2014 she joined Hitachi Transport System as the first female Board director of the company. In this capacity she has been keen on promoting women in leadership. She also joined AXA Life Insurance as a Board director in spring 2016.
Dr. Magoshi is the author of several works, including Diversity and Transcultural Management: Global Human Resources for Japanese Companies, as well as Transcultural Management: Theories, Empirical Studies and a New Horizon for which she received the Ansoff Award for 2000. She was also given the Best Paper Award for her co-authored paper on diversity management from the Japan Academy of International Business Studies in 2010.
Dr. Magoshi graduated from Sophia University with a major in French and a minor in International Relations. She received a Master's degree in Economics from Keio University, completed the Doctoral course in Economics at Keio University and received a Doctorate in International Management from the University of East Asia.
Dr. Magoshi was a popular host of NHK radio programs on Business English from 2001 to 2007 and published four CD books based on the radio program. Her recent activities include English Rakugo, a traditional sit-down comedy in English and Jazz vocal and piano performance. She released her first Jazz CD album in April 2017.
Looking toward the future, Dr. Magoshi intends to expand upon her expertise in the field and experience continued success in all of her endeavors.
