He followed this accomplishment at the same university, earning a Master of Science in physical and organic chemistry, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in organic chemistry. He is renowned as a molecular imaging expert and inventor of molecular imaging agents. Additionally, he holds more than 90 patents and applications in the field, and he and his team delved into nuclear medicine, where they discovered that incipient plaque contributed to angina and other symptoms of atherosclerosis. The author and coauthor of more than 130 publications and chapters to books, Dr. Elmaleh maintains affiliation with several professional organizations. He is a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine, the American Chemical Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
