With more than 30 years of professional experience, Drs. van Diggelen founded and is the Director of Proqualis Advisory BV and became Supervisory Board member and audit committee member of Meander Medisch Centrum in 2018. Prior to obtaining her current positions, she served as Vice-Chair and Chair of the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) from 2013 to 2017, after having been a member of IFIAR's Advisory Council since 2011. Additionally she served on behalf of IFIAR as a member of the Monitoring Group which oversees the international standard setting for accountants.
From 2004 to 2017, Drs. van Diggelen served as Head International Auditing & Accounting, Policies and Standard Setting for the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets. Earlier in her career, Drs. van Diggelen served as an Executive Manager in corporate finance and Senior Manager in auditing with Ernst and Young in the Netherlands, United States of America and the Netherlands Antilles from 1987 to 2004.
In addition to her primary roles, she has served as a lecturer with the Nyenrode Business University since 2017.
Drs. van Diggelen studied business economics at the School for Higher Economic and Administrative Education, graduating in 1987. From 1987 to 1995, she studied accounting and auditing with the Royal Netherlands Institute of Registered Accountants, and she was recognized as a Registered Accountant. In 1996 she was recognized as a Certified Public Accountant by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Since 2000 she holds a Master of Science in Information Management from Nyenrode Business University, where she has also studied the Board Director Cycle.
Drs. van Diggelen is recognized as a New Manager by de Baak, and she has completed a master class in strategic management and a master class in IT innovation with Tilburg University, and the Advanced Management Program with INSEAD. Looking toward the future, Drs. van Diggelen will continue to contribute to enhancing audit quality globally.
