A tenured endocrinologist, Dr. Wollesen has been the CEO and senior consultant of EndoCons.com for the past 20 years. Offering endocrine consulting work to colleagues and endocrine services to patients, the clinic is conveniently located in Stockholm, Sweden. First completing a Doctor of Medicine at Copenhagen University Medical School in 1963, followed by postgraduate studies and serving as chief resident of endocrinology at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical School between 1971 and 1973, Dr. Wollesen then spent another two years at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York as an assistant professor of endocrinology before heading back home to begin his career in medicine.
Becoming an assistant professor of endocrinology at Copenhagen University Hospital in 1976 upon his return, where he remained for a decade, Dr. Wollesen then taught at Kalmar County Hospital in Sweden, followed by the Uppsala University Hospital, where he continues to serve as a research fellow. After 25 years in academia, he ventured to United Arab Emirates where he earned the opportunity to serve as the personal physician of endocrinology to the president between 2000 and 2004.
Certified in internal medicine and endocrinology in both Stockholm and Copenhagen and licensed in medicine and surgery in Albany, NY, Dr. Wollesen remains active as a member of the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society of America, the Swedish Society of Diabetology, the Danish Medical Association, and the Swedish Medical Association, among several others. He is also an elected fellow of the American College of Physicians in Philadelphia, PA.
During his career, Dr. Wollesen contributed numerous articles to peer-reviewed journals. He was also the recipient of a research grant by the Danish Government Medical Research Council earlier in his career and has since been highlighted in approximately a dozen editions of Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in the World. The son of a physician, Dr. Wollesen is the proud father of four sons.
