Dr. Park has served as a senior researcher at the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training (KRIVET) since 2005.

Prior to obtaining his current position, he worked as the director of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea current employment team from 2001 to 2005 and the leader of the Ministry of Employment and Labor employment information team from 1998 to 2000. In addition, he has serving as a specialist with the International Labor Organization.
Dr. Park was inspired to pursue a career in the field by his belief that occupations are fundamental for all societies to maintain and develop, and that it is very important for individuals to have a job and work well. He also believes that the importance of research and policy development in vocational education and training cannot be overemphasized. He began his career as a student at Korea University, obtaining a Master of Arts in economics. In addition, he holds a PhD in economics from Binghamton University, State University of New York. Dr. Park is certified in secondary education and in sociology.
A leading voice in the field, Dr. Park is affiliated with numerous professional organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the Labor Economics Association, the Career Education Association, the Lifelong Vocational Education Association, and the Practical Industrial Engineering Association.
Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards for his work, including The Prize of President and the Prize of the Minister of Employment and Labor. Attributing his success to his sincere efforts in research, he intends to remain with KRIVET as a researcher. In his free time, Dr. Park enjoys mountain climbing.
