A retired partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he had spent 24 years, he also served several years as the senior vice president and managing director of Shearson Lehman Brothers, Inc. in New York City. An expert in mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Dunn holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University.
Employed with General Motors every summer while pursuing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Dunn eventually made the decision to change gears to pursue law instead. Recognizing that it would be a long road to the top in the engineering industry, the independence of the law began to appeal to him greatly. Becoming an independent voice within the justice system was something he never regretted. Since earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence, Mr. Dunn was admitted to practice by the New York State Bar Association in 1970, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1972, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 1973 and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1978.
A longtime member of the federal regulation of securities committee in the business law section of the American Bar Association since 1981, Mr. Dunn formerly served on the organization's board of governors for several years. He is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, member and former committee chairman of the International Bar Association and an Elected Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. His non-vocational memberships include the Grey Oaks Country Club, the Canoe Brook Country Club and the Down Town Association. Married to Jill Lynn Fasbender since 1967 with three children, Mr. Dunn has been cited in more than 70 editions of Who's Who, including Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.
