She has been working as the staff pediatric neurosurgeon for Sanford Health since 2014. She is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. Currently she is the only board certified pediatric neurosurgeon in North Dakota. Dr. Yang is licensed to practice medicine in both Minnesota and North Dakota. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Yang has contributed articles to such journals as Journal of Neurological Surgery, World Neurosurgery and Pediatric Blood & Cancer.
Prior to her medical career, Dr. Yang pursued training in biomedical research. She completed her studies at Brandeis University, graduating with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry. She continued with further research endeavors at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She has publications in such journals as Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, and Journal of Biochemistry.
In addition to affiliations with her professional organizations, she has maintained involvement as a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr Yang was additionally selected for inclusions in multiple editions of Who's Who in America.
