Formerly serving as a researcher at Tohoku University between 2007 and 2011, as the chief technology officer at 3R Corporation in Sendai between 2005 and 2009, and as the managing director at MHW Informatics, Inc., in Sendai between 2005 and 2007, outside of serving at the institute, Dr. Watanabe has been the representative partner at Innova Materia LLC for the past nine years.
The recipient of a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research, which was granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 1995, 1999 and 2017, Dr. Watanabe also holds several patents in his field. He has contributed several dozen scholarly articles to peer-reviewed journals in his area of expertise and is a longstanding member of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials, the Magnetics Society of Japan and American Chemical Society.
Earning a Doctor of Philosophy in precision engineering from Tohoku University in 1992, Dr. Watanabe has been cited in every edition of Who's Who in the World since 2004, as well as several editions of Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who's Who in Asia for his work.
