An award-winning film and television conductor who has composed theatrical marketing scores for more than 2,000 well-known films during his career, Mr. Beal has been the president and senior composer of Reeltime Creative, Inc., in Beverly Hills, CA, since 1984. Composing music for 45 theatrical features, television films and documentaries and 26 major network television series, and serving as the music director and consultant for over 20 major network specials, he is fluent in jazz, classical, contemporary, electronic and world music.

Recognized for being a part of a revolutionary creation of today's contemporary motion picture trailer format and well-known throughout the industry as the composer who has defined its musical style and template, Mr. Beal is an accomplished film music conductor with thousands of hours in front of orchestras in Hollywood and abroad. His earlier career has included working as a film and television composer for such shows as "Happy Days," "Laverne and Shirley" and "Eight is Enough." Prior to getting into the film and television business, he was music director, arranger and performer with Grammy Award-winning stars such as Olivia Newton-John, Johnny Mathis and Gladys Knight.

Mr. Beal's résumé has since included hundreds of major studio credits, which include campaigns for such films as "Titanic," "The Matrix," "Forrest Gump," "The Last Samurai" and the "Star Wars" trilogy. More recently, he has conducted live to film concerts around the world, including "The Godfather," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." In December 2017, Mr. Beal also began working with AIVA Technologies and NVIDIA, and in February 2018, became the conductor on the Deadmau5 studio album "Where's the Drop?" with its subsequent concerts beginning in March 2018 with Deadmau5 and a large symphony orchestra.

A musician since 1966, Mr. Beal completed coursework at the University of California, Los Angeles, and San Diego State University. An active member of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the Society of Composers and Lyricists, and the Veterans in Media and Entertainment, he also served as the governor of the Recording Academy during the 1980s.

Honored many times for his work, Mr. Beal received a Golden Score Award, two Trailer Awards from Hollywood.com, an International Film Music Critics Association Award and two Reader's Choice Awards. He also received recognition for his contribution to two Emmy Awards in music direction and composition.

Mr. Beal served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1972. His time served earned him a Single Mission Air Medal with Bronze Star for Heroism, eight Air Medals for Bravery, a Naval Achievement with Valor and a Combat Action Ribbon. Born in Santa Monica, CA, he first played the piano at 6 years old. Becoming a professional soloist in a boys' choir at the age of 8 and a professional drummer on stage and in the recording studio by the age of 10, Mr. Beal later graduated from John Muir High School in Pasadena, CA. He has since been named to the school's Hall of Fame in 2008. Mr. Beal has been included in multiple editions of Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
