MANORVILLE, NY, August 31, 2018, Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Peter Gregory Angelo, Ph.D., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Peter Gregory Angelo celebrates 50 years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With decades of practiced industry experience to his credit, Dr. Angelo works as an adjunct professor for the C.W. Post College at Long Island University. Earlier in his career, he served as director of aquatics and coordinator of recreational swimming programs for the Catholic Child Care Society. He was part of a team that developed a university program called adapted aquatics, which uses water as a therapy medium for people with severe physical and/or multiple disabilities. During this time, the Munich Olympics were fast approaching, and he was an Olympic-level swimmer. However, school exams and the development of his aquatics program kept him stationed at home. Since the Munich Olympics was then hit by a terrorist attack, Dr. Angelo considers his circumstances divine intervention.
More recently, Dr. Angelo has held similar roles with the New York Association for Brain Injured Children and the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he has worked as associate professor for 30 years. A Bachelor of Arts in psychology and biology, a Master of Arts in English, and a Doctor of Philosophy in English back his extensive professional resume. Utilizing his extensive background, he has authored "Fall to Glory: Theological Reflection on Milton's Epics," "Adapted Aquatics Teacher Training DVD." For his excellence in the field, he has been honored with the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching from the State University of New York, and the NYS Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence. Looking ahead, Dr. Angelo intends to experience the continued success of his career as an adjunct Professor of English.
