During this time, he held the position of director of Allied Health Sciences for Sacred Heart University from 1980 to 1993. Previously, he served Pollution Control Industries, Inc., as a chief microbiologist and project manager from 1969 to 1971. Dr. Verses began his career as an assistant professor of biology at Minnesota State University Moorhead from 1968 to 1969.
Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Verses pursued an education at Valparaiso University, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1961. He concluded his studies at the University of Connecticut in 1967, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in bacteriology. Following these accomplishments, Dr. Verses obtained a number of patents, most notably for a sterilization indicator device.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Dr. Verses has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. In 1970, he contributed to the Bridgeport Harbor Study as director. Furthermore, Dr. Verses held the role of co-owner of Ecotech Laboratories in Fairfield, CT, from 1970 to 1972. In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Verses remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He has involvement with the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Verses was also active as an associate member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Verses has accrued several accolades throughout his impressive career. He was presented with a fellowship from the Lilly Endowment and Yale University in 1978, a postdoctoral fellowship from the University of Colorado Hospital, and a fellowship from the American Institute of Chemists. Dr. Verses was selected for inclusion in the 21st edition of Who's Who in the East.
