Supported by more than 55 years of professional excellence, Mr. Ingram serves as both an insurance agent and a researcher of bald eagles. He was deferred from military service in order to conduct his studies, which was an honor given only to him. Since he was young, he has been environmentally driven and has saved more than 2,000 acres in Wisconsin and 300 acres in Illinois for bald eagle habitats over the years. In high school, he also learned beekeeping and taught the skills to his friends. At the start of his career, he served as an instructor of physics and mathematics for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In later years, with over 50 years teaching classes in beginning beekeeping he taught high school science and math in Wisconsin and Illinois.
An insurance agent and crop adjuster, Mr. Ingram holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, in addition to graduating from the Graham School for Cattlemen and Women. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Inland Bird Banding Association, where he has served as an editor and president, the Illinois Guernsey Breeders Association and the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. Likewise, he was the founder of the Eagle Valley Environmentalists and the Eagle Foundation. Utilizing his extensive industry knowledge, he has edited "Bald Eagle News" and also authored a coffee-table book called "Eagle," a photographic book "The Plight of the Bald Eagle" and over 20 years had published the Small Beekeeper Journal.
Due to his range of skills in numerous industries, Mr. Ingram has been awarded many times over the years, earning the Protector of the Environment Award through the Chicago Audubon Society, the Honor Roll Award through the Izaak Walton League of America, the prestigious Sol Feinstone Environmental Award from Syracuse University and the Presentation Award from the Eagle Nature Foundation. Additionally, he has been featured in three editions of Who's Who in the Midwest. In the coming years, Mr. Ingram intends to continue working in the field of bald eagle conservation.
